Take a Grand Tour of the White House Christmas Decorations With HGTV’s Mika & Brian Kleinschmidt
Grab a mug of cocoa and your favorite cozy blanket and get ready to snuggle up on the couch this weekend to watch Jill Biden take us on a tour through the White House, with each room and hall fully decked out for Christmas! HGTV will showcase America’s most magnificent holiday transformation when it airs White House Christmas 2024 on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. ET/PT.
Hosts Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt of HGTV's 100 Day Dream Home will tour the home with the First Lady as she shares how this year’s White House holiday theme - “A Season of Peace and Light”—is reflected in each room and design element, encouraging guests to embrace the peace and light of the holiday season.
It takes a lot of people - more than 300 dedicated volunteers from across the country - to make the magic happen with an astonishing array of decorations, including more than 165,075 holiday lights, 83 Christmas trees, 28,125 ornaments, 9,810 feet of ribbon and 2,200 doves.
White House Christmas 2024 will spotlight the festive holiday displays in each iconic space of the White House. You'll get to see the Gold Star Tree exhibit that honors fallen service members and a stunning collection of bells adorning the East Colonnade. There's a cascade of peace doves suspended overhead in the Cross Hall and the majestic 18-foot-tall official White House Christmas Tree in the Blue Room, not to mention the iconic Gingerbread White House. The hosts even get to help decorate the Diplomatic Room, now open to the public for the first time!
I'm excited to watch this special event! If you'd like to see past White House Christmas specials, you can find them on Max® and discovery+ and are invited to connect with White House Christmas 2024 on HGTV’s digital platforms at HGTV.com and their social media channels.

Isn't it stunning? Christmas lights are all above and around you as you move through the historic home to match the decorating theme, A Season of Peace and Light. TikToker Johnny's Home Designs Volunteered to Help Decorate the White House
Can you imagine being invited to the White House to help decorate for Christmas? Johnny of Johnny's Home Designs was one of the lucky folks that received an invite, and he shared a video at the beginning of December giving us a sneak peek inside the President's holiday home.
Through Johnny's eyes, we get to see some of the main living areas, and in some of the rooms he points out the decor that he helped to create. It's such a fun video to watch! The White House is definitely full of Christmas cheer this holiday season!
