In an email about her new Rugs USA collection, Emily said, "One of my design philosophies that I say over and over and over is I love things that are simple but special. Like I don't need everything to be really loud or graphic or busy," She went on to say, "We took that into designing the collection, mostly because we took this simple but special kind of esthetic into the collection because I wanted the rugs to be really, really versatile. Not everybody has a farmhouse, not really has my style necessarily, but most of these rugs are so transitional, they just work everywhere."

What I'm loving about these rugs is how understated they all are, yet they still pack a punch using colors, eye-catching patterns, and different textures. Not to mention they're affordable!

Area Rugs Can Work in Any Room

We have vinyl wood flooring throughout our home; there's literally no carpet anywhere in the house. While the flooring is super easy to care for and beautiful to look at, without area rugs, the rooms feel a bit bare. Area rugs help to make a room look more complete, and also adds warmth (both visually and to your toes!) to the hard floors. 

Rugs also help soak up sound in large rooms, which is a bonus in busy main living spaces where sounds echo. It can be noisy when the kids and dog are running around, when the TV is on, and when we're all in the same room. Adding a rug helps cut down on all of that. The thicker the rug, the more efficient it is at absorbing sound and reducing noise, whether it's voices or loud footsteps.
