How to Create 'Blood' Dripping Vampire Glasses

Chad A Elick

I still remember my favorite Halloween as an adult.  My husband and I set up an eerie scene outside our front door and dressed up in scary costumes.  We had a graveyard scene in the yard with fog rolling through.  Strobe lights and a spooky soundtrack truly set the scene.

As kids approached they saw us dressed in scary costumes standing behind a table with a steaming cauldron and a table filled with blood rimmed clear plastic cups.   We served candy from our spooky cauldron and offered a glass of punch.  I still grin as I remember the looks on the faces of those kids.  It was a completely unforgettable All Hallow's Eve.

Impress your party guests with 'Blood' Dripping Vampire Glasses.

How to:  To rim a glass with blood drips, combine 1/4 cup corn syrup and 6-8 drops red gel food coloring (more as needed) in a shallow bowl slightly larger than your glasses. Stir until well combined.

Dip the glass rim into the mixture and allow it to drip off while upside down for a moment. Flip the glass right side up and set on wax or parchment paper until it is done dripping.

Note: You need very little ‘blood’ on the rim to create the perfect drips.
