The fireplace tends to be the highlight of any room; the feature that the rest of the space is oriented around. Which means your fireplace design had better be good. Yet, settling on a fireplace idea that'll make your space truly stand out can be a tough task. So, Parade Home & Garden turned to the CEO and Founder of Urbanology Designs, Ginger Curtis, for the best fireplace ideas

"A fireplace naturally becomes a focal point for two key reasons rooted in neuroaesthetics," Curtis says. "First, it’s often one of the larger architectural features in a room, which immediately draws the eye. Second, humans are instinctively drawn to fire because of the flames' fractal patterns—complex, self-repeating designs found in nature that our brains subconsciously gravitate towards."
